Big Muddy Blues Festival
The Largest Free Blues Festival in Missouri
The Big Muddy Blues Festival started in 1986 under the name of the Blues and Heritage Festival. The St. Louis Blues Society conceived the idea and hosted the event for the first eight years. In 1994, they handed the event off to the Laclede’s Landing Merchants Association, after which it was renamed the Big Muddy Blues Festival. Since then, the Big Muddy Blues Festival has become one of St. Louis’s longest-running music festivals. 2020 would have marked the 25th consecutive year of the festival, but organizers are already working to make the 2021 Big Muddy Blues Festival the best yet.
