Every Labor Day weekend, close to 60,000 people make the journey to St. Louis to experience Big Muddy Blues Festival, the region’s largest Blues music event. Located here on Laclede’s Landing, just north of the Gateway Arch, the festival’s backdrop is the Big Muddy itself – the river that inspired so many Blues songs and the musicians who wrote them. Big Muddy Blues Festival showcases over 30 Blues and Blues-related bands, performing throughout the weekend on three outdoor stages. In the recent past, such nationally-known artists as Guy Forsyth, Lurrie Bell, Moreland and Arbuckle and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Booker T (of Booker T and the MGs) have taken to the main stage at Laclede’s Landing’s First Street picnic area. At secondary stages on the popular Second Street boulevard, regional and local favorites play raucous sets to intersections crowded with people ranging from the Blues-obsessed to the regular music-lover.

2012 Line-Up to be announced in the spring.
