My husband and I went to the Blues Festival in early September. We heard about it on the radio and had not seen the website. We both are public education school teachers and my husband is retired. Upon entering and paying admission, I told the young woman that we were looking for a place to sit and have drinks, food, etc, and watch the music. She said that was all inside. I entered and in less than 5 minutes realized this was not a part of the restaraunt/bar district we were looking to hang out in. We have never been to the landing before. I asked the girl for a refund since I had entered literally 2-3 minutes prior. She called her manager, Emily, and I was told there are no refunds as it is posted on the web. I feel, Emily, as a manager, should have taken at least a moment to access the situation and realize these were two visitors who clearly did not understand the set-up for the evening’s entertainment. That is what a person in a leadership position does, access unique problems and propose reasonable solutions. I think Emily failed to do this or even make an attempt in this situation. This would seem a poor representation of the hospitality I believe the landing is attempting to offer the public. Incidentally, we did stay and walk around the area, visiting several of the establishments and had a very nice time.
